The New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge 2003, the 4th consecutive year of the event, will feature a new twist this year. For added excitement, the Society has joined forces with the Chesapeake Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society to offer the public a duel lighthouse adventure.

First will be the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge to be held on Sept. 13 and 14 of this year to be followed on Oct. 18 and 19 by the New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge.

Those participating in the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge will be given a souvenir stamp at each Maryland lighthouse they visit, while in New Jersey, for the New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge, the following month, each participant will be given a trading card at each lighthouse they visit. Participants visiting all the lighthouses in each individual state get a special award and even another award will be given to those that complete the Challenge in both states.
