Tommy Dutton, a long time friend of Maine’s lighthouses, says his goodbyes at his retirement ceremony at Coast Guard Group South Portland. However, Dutton’s 30-year illustrious career in the Coast Guard, which included a major drug bust, numerous search and rescues and lots of hard work, is not over. Three days after his retirement he was recalled to active duty and will now serve as Officer in Charge of Aids to Navigation in Honolulu, Hawaii. He will be missed in Maine but will be an asset to Hawaii.
