To say that Roger and Betty Johnson of Rockford, IL are lighthouse buffs is an understatement.

The couple fell in love with lighthouses about 12 years ago and have traveled extensively around the United States and other nations to visit them. Five years ago they built this home and that has its own facsimile lighthouse.

The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and at a party given by their children and attended by 110 guests all the tables were decorated with lighthouses.

The couple also owns a business complex, which has two lighthouses adorning it.

This story appeared in the October 2003 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine.
