Shown here from two old photographs are California's Ballast Point Lighthouse. The station, built in 1890, lasted until 1961, when the Coast Guard tore it down.
Although there is some sketchy information in various books, we are looking for old newspaper stories about the lighthouse, as well as old photographs of keepers and family members who lived there, recorded memories etc. for an in-depth story.
If any of our readers can help out, please write to Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630.
