New Jersey lighthouses will once again share the spotlight with Maryland's beacons.
The New Jersey Lighthouse Society will once more join forces with the Chesapeake Chapter of the USLHS to offer the public a dual lighthouse adventure.
The New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge will be held on October 16 and 17, 2004. This is the fifth year for the New Jersey event. Participants will be awarded a trading card at each lighthouse featuring a special Harbour Lights photograph. The Maryland Lighthouse Challenge held September 18 and 19, 2004 will precede the New Jersey event. Participants of this event will be given a trading card with an antique black and white photograph at each lighthouse.
In two glorious weekends, lighthouse lovers can visit 20 lighthouses and one lightship and come home with a memento of each one. All lighthouse enthusiasts who complete both challenges will be awarded a special certificate of accomplishment.
For more information on these events, contact the New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge event coordinator at NJLHChallenge@hotmail.com or call (856) 546-0514 or go to the website of the Maryland Challenge at www.cheslights.org.
