Volunteers of Michigan's DeTour Reef Lighthouse Preservation Society (DRLPS) recently completed a wooden scale model of the unique crib foundation of the lighthouse as an educational tool so people will understand what is holding up the lighthouse at its water surrounded location.
Chuck Feltner and John Covell built the model and Nettleton Wood Products of DeTour Village, MI donated the wood. The model of the crib went on public display before it was brought to the offshore lighthouse where everyone who visits the station can now view it.
