When Virginia's Assateague Lighthouse closed for the season in December, the Chincoteague Natural History Association, which manages the lighthouse, recognized it volunteers with a pizza party. Front row – Pat Lambert and Myrna Cherrix, lighthouse historian. Middle row – Shuli Tor, Carol Barkley, Carole Marx, Diane Wien and Jack Keene. Back row – Matt O'Neill and Bob Marx, Lighthouse committee Chairman.

For this coming season the entrance to the lighthouse will be reorganized with a small gift shop at the entrance and

fee climbing area and the workroom will be turned into a

mini museum.
