Easter Seal Society releases another collectible lighthouse ornament

Comments?

The waters of the Great Lakes; Huron, Ontario, Michigan. Erie and Superior are as vital to business and recreation as is any ocean. Watching over those gigantic bodies of water are our ever vigilant guardians, the lighthouses.

Last year, to honor their lighthouses the Easter Seal Society of Northwestern Ohio created a five part series of solid pewter ornaments called "The Lighthouses of Ohio." The artwork for the entire series is being provided by the renown maritime artist, Ben Richmond, whose signature is engraved on the reverse side of each ornament. The first one released last year, titled "Lone Flights" featured Marblehead Lighthouse. The 1997 ornament is from Mr. Richmond's "Silent Sentinel" and depicts the Vermilion Lighthouse. Advance orders are now being accepted for this ornament which is scheduled to be released shortly.

Each ornament is a 3" oval and comes in a velvet drawstring bag with a numbered insert card making them a unique collectors item. Former President George Bush has the first in the series in his lighthouse collection.

The statistics say that 1 in 5 Americans will have to deal with a disability sometime during their life. No one plans on something disabling happening to themselves or a loved one, and too often, they have no idea where to turn for help. The Easter Seal Society's mission has always been to offer assistance to all people with disabilities, regardless of age or income.

Your purchase of an ornament will help Easter Seals to help someone, maybe you in the future. Ornaments are $15.00 each plus $1.00 for shipping. These ornaments make great gifts but do sell out fast so order yours today from Easter Seal Society, 1905 N. Ridge Road, Lorain, OH 44055.
