Claire Burn is shown here in her lighthouse ...

Twelve year old Claire Burn of Virginia is truly one of the “Next Generation” of lighthouse keepers who will be a leader in preserving lighthouses and the history associated with them.

Claire, who refers to herself as a “lighthouse lover extraordinaire,” writes to us that she is an avid reader of Lighthouse Digest and loves the magazine. Claire’s, who is a pretty good lighthouse artist in her own right, says her favorite lighthouse is Piney Point Lighthouse in Maryland and one of her dreams is to visit the lighthouses in Maine.

This story appeared in the March 2009 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
