Lighthouse History Wanted From Around The Globe.

Comments?

We'd like to help our readers, as well as ourselves, broaden our horizons and learn more about lighthouses in other nations. Lighthouse photographs from all over the world arrive in our offices weekly, but for the most part, other than what is found on the Internet, which in many cases is very little or wrong, almost never includes photographs of the keepers or the memories of the lighthouse keepers who tended these lights.

So, if any of our readers can help us, or guide us to others who can supply us historic images and memories of lighthouses outside of the United States, we'd love to hear from you.

For example, we'd like to learn more about the Monte Igueldo Lighthouse in San Sebastian, Spain, that is shown here in a photograph taken by Philip Hunter. Who were the keepers? Are there any recorded memories of the people who lived at this lighthouse? Are there historic images available of the lighthouse? Are there photos available of the keepers or other family members?

Okay, you get the idea. It's all about saving lighthouse history not just in the United States but from the many interesting corners of the world. So, please, let's hear from some of you by writing to Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630 or e-mail Editor@LighthouseDigest.com.
