Lucky Clark outside the lantern room at Isle La ...

We are saddened to report on the passing, at age 92, of Lockwood "Lucky" Clark who owned Windmill Point and Isle La Motte Lighthouses on Lake Champlain, Vermont. Both lighthouses were decommissioned in the 1930s and at that time the lights in both towers were removed by the government. In 2002, through Clark's dedication, lights were returned to both towers in two separate ceremonies, as active aids to navigation. Lucky Clark was a leader in lighthouse preservation who left us all a legacy that will be carried forward for future generations. Condolence cards can be mailed to Rob and Claire Clark, Post Office Box 494, Champlain, NY 12919.
