This old photograph recently came into our possession. Written on the back of the photograph it simply said "Tillamook Rock Lighthouse Keeper." Unfortunately there was no name or date written on the photograph.

Obviously, the photograph was not taken at Tillamook Rock Lighthouse which sits on the top of a rock off the coast of Seaside Oregon.

On close examination, the man in the photograph appears to resemble Peter C. Nelson, who was a keeper at a number of California lighthouses and was featured in our January/February issue. However, in all the photos we’ve seen of Peter C. Nelson, the letter K on his uniform jacket was sewn on the top lapel of his jacket and this man’s letter K is on the lower lapel of the jacket.

If anyone can help us identify this lighthouse keeper, please e-mail us at Editor@LighthouseDigest.com or write to Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P. O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630.
