The Ponce de Leon Lighthouse in Florida, which already has one of the finest lighthouse collections in the country, now has a new additional permanent exhibit.
Appropriately named, Minor Lights, the new display features 29 small lanterns and lenses, including post and ship lanterns, buoy and river lights and other minor aids to navigation. The items on display date from the mid 1800s to modern times and show how Fresnel lens technology was adapted to many different types of aids to navigation.
The Ponce de Leon Lighthouse is located at 4931 South Peninsula Dr.
in Ponce Inlet, Florida 32127. For more information you can call them at 386-761-1821 or visit their web site at www.ponceinlet.org.
