Sometime back, the folks from Michigan's Saginaw River Marine Historical Society presented a lighthouse program to second grade students. One of the projects the students had to do was to write something they learned about lighthouses and draw and color a picture of the Saginaw Lighthouse. Some of what they wrote is far beyond what one would expect from second graders. We are showing some of their artwork here with the words typed from their writing. Hopefully, other lighthouse groups are doing similar programs or will be encouraged to do so in the future.
