With a plan underway to build a replica of the long lost Petoskey Pierhead Lighthouse in Petoskey, Michigan, we thought we’d share a few of the images we have of the other lighthouses on the Great Lakes that closely resembled the Petoskey Pierhead Lighthouse.
We wish we knew more about these lighthouses and the keepers who staffed them. If any of our readers have additional photographs of the lighthouses, old post card images of them, or any additional information, we’d love to hear from you. If you live in or near the communities where these lighthouses once stood and can do some research at your local library or historical society, we could certainly use the help. Write to Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630 or e-mail Editor@LighthouseDigest.com.
For every high resolution scanned original photograph of any of the ‘pagoda style’ lighthouses that are sent to us and are not a duplicate of an image shown here, we will send you a free gift from Lighthouse Digest.
