Shown here is a rare, candle-powered, 150 mm six-day post lantern of the kind that was featured in the August 2005 issue of Lighthouse Digest in Jim Claflin’s column “Collecting Nautical Antiques.”

For those who might be visiting the Cincinnati area, this lantern has been donated to and may be seen in the Cincinnati Museum at Union Terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio. This lantern was manufactured by The Post Company of Cincinnati and was used as a channel marker on the Ohio River over a century ago. (Photograph by James G. Norman.)
