The caption for this news-wire photograph, taken by Marsha Halper on September 25, 1986, read, “Chief Quartermaster Tom Golembeski (USCG), keeper of the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, surveys the tranquil view from atop the outer deck of the lighthouse.” Writing on the photo indicated that it was going to be used in a photo feature story about the lighthouse in a local newspaper. Golembeski served at Florida’s Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse from 1986 to 1989. The 1907 Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse in located in Pompano Beach, Florida and is under the auspices of the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society.
