The lighthouse keeper and his wife at Maine’s West Quoddy Head Lighthouse maintained a beautiful flower garden in a small fenced-in area at the lighthouse when this photo was taken of the well-maintained station when it was still staffed. Located in the Quoddy Head State Park, a museum exhibit and visitors center is now maintained in the former keeper’s house by the West Quoddy Head Light Keeper’s Association, which is open yearly from Memorial Day to October 15. If you visit, be sure to walk or hike the trails that overlook spectacular cliffs with majestic views.
