This undated U.S. Lighthouse Service photo, titled “Jumping to a 9 x 28 Lighted Whistle Buoy,” shows that one false move and into the drink you go. Although no location was given as to where the photo was taken, it shows that servicing these buoys was strenuous hard work, which was also dangerous.
