Lisa Courtenay’s dream of having a plaque installed at Canada’s Peases Island, where her grandfather John Leo Surette was a lighthouse keeper for 30 years, finally came to a reality.
Ever since Lisa Courtenay’s story, “John Leo Surette: Thirty Years of Memories at Peases Island Lighthouse” appeared in the January/February 2016 edition of Lighthouse Digest, she had been working diligently to get the Canadian government to approve the placement of the plaque. Congratulations Lisa Courtenay for the honor that you were able to bestow for your grandfather and his family for their amazing lighthouse life.
