The scaffolding is up in preparation for sandblasting and painting of Michigan’s 1935 North Manitou Shoal Lighthouse. Located in Lake Michigan near Glen Arbor, the lighthouse was automated in 1980.
The restoration is part of the effort of the North Manitou Light Keepers to bring the lighthouse back to its original grandeur.
