This past December, winter storms uncovered the remains of an old shipwreck by the White River Lighthouse in Whitehall Michigan. It is believed to be the remains of the wreck of the barque L.C. Woodruff that wrecked there in October 31, 1878. When it was mentioned on the local and national TV news networks, the remains of the shipwreck drew large crowds of people who wanted to see a slice of maritime history before it was again covered by the dunes.
