Do you love lighthouses and history? Would you like to work for yourself in a field that you love? Perhaps be your own boss? If so, we have an opportunity for you!
Because of recent health issues and the advancing age of our staff (our editor just turned 75), it has become increasingly apparent that after 31 amazing years, it is time for us at Lighthouse Digest to find the next generation of lighthouse historians and preservationists to take over our all-important task of carrying forth our mission.
Obviously, it should be someone younger than we are, or, perhaps a consortium of lighthouse preservation groups, or another niche magazine. But it needs to be someone who can devote the time to continue our efforts in saving and writing about lighthouse history and current lighthouse events to be saved for future generations, while expanding the subscriber base, as well as managing our large online database of nearly 8,300 lighthouses.
If any of this sounds appealing to you, send us a letter of interest, or make us an outright offer. Please – serious inquiries only to: Kathleen Finnegan, Managing Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P. O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630.
Although change is constant, we are not planning on going anywhere. Our goal is to continue publishing Lighthouse Digest until we can transition the publication to others.
