This Coast Guard project entailed the solarization of the submarine cable powered lighthouse. All the required electronics and batteries were installed in the detached fog signal house several hundred yards from the tower. This enabled the Coast Guard to locate the solar array and sound signal further away from the tower, and to minimize any visual impacts the modern equipment may have on the station. Control and power cables for the actual light run through rigid conduit between the lighthouse and the oil house.
