The Queen of the Gulf

By Randy Chase

Comments?

The Queen of the Gulf

Standing so proud and tall

Survived many a storm

And once a cannon ball.

With her bands of black and white

And her bright beam of light

Flashing a code to sailors

Until that September night.

Through the wind and rain

Swaying like a giant reed

Holding its ground firmly

For the people in need.

She’s stood the test of time

And let us not lose sight

For the Queen of the Gulf

Is Point Bolivar Light.
