This recently discovered photograph was only identified as “Maine Lighthouse Keeper.” But who is he?

We have searched through our files, and cannot find an exact match. However, after examining many photos, we believe that it is possible that he is Ambrose Wasgatt. But, most of our photos of Mr. Wasgatt are not clear enough to make a positive identification. Wasgatt was a lighthouse keeper at Egg Rock Lighthouse from 1875 to 1885 and then at Prospect Harbor Point Lighthouse from 1885 to 1918.

However, it is also possible that this photograph could be of some other lighthouse keeper that we do not have a photo of in our files. We are hoping that one of our many readers might be able to help us out to solve this lighthouse history mystery.
