There was once a second lighthouse at the east end of Eagle Island; it was discontinued after being damaged by a storm in 1894. In 2013, the Commissioners of Irish Lights removed the dome of the lighthouse. Tower Height: 36 Height of Focal Plane: 220 Characteristic and Range: Fl (3) W 10s - Shown through 24 hours. Nominal Range: 23 nautical miles. Description of Tower: White conical tower.
