Date Established: 1893 Date Present Tower Built: 1932 Date Automated: 1973 Optics: The 5th order Fresnel lens was removed from the lighthouse on June 6, 2019 and put on display at the North Point Lighthouse Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Algoma now has a modern light-emitting-diode beacon. Current Use: Active aid to navigation. Directions:
This lighthouse is at the end of a breakwater on the north side of the Ahnapee River entrance, near downtown Algoma. It is best viewed from the southern breakwater.
