Photo Caption:

The kids at Passage Island Lighthouse in the mid 1930s. On the left wearing a hat is Ann Bowen. In front of her is her sister, Johonna. The boy in the middle is Larry Lane, son of Lawrence Lane who served as a 2nd assistant keeper and later as a keeper of the Passage Island Lighthouse. The other boy is an unidentified cousin of Lanes. The dog was Annie’s pet “Spot,” who loved lighthouse life. Some of Annie’s memories were published in 2007 in the book, “A Pocketful of Passage,” by Loraine Campbell. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
