Top right, the aero-beacons can be seen in the lantern of this image that shows the full Cape Lookout Lighthouse Station on the Cape Lookout National Seashore. The keeper’s house now serves as a visitor’s center. The tower was built in 1859 to replace an earlier tower. The first order Fresnel lens that was once in the lantern is now in the Southeast Light on Block Island, Rhode Island. Back to the edition of: Jul/Aug 2017
