Chicago Harbor Lighthouse head keeper Robert A. McKillop is shown here at the radio beam control board at Chicago Harbor Lighthouse on National Lighthouse Day, August 7, 1939. Born in Canada in 1877, Robert A. McKillop started his lighthouse career at South Manitou Island Lighthouse in 1907 and then went on to serve at Grassy Island Lighthouse, St. Joseph Pier Lighthouse, and Point Betise Lighthouse before coming to Chicago Harbor Lighthouse.
