The abandoned Pointe Aux Barques Coast Guard Station as is appeared on April 30, 1940. The original Life Saving Station can be seen to the right of the Coast Guard boat house in the middle of the photo. Fortunately, the structure was saved and is now on display at Lighthouse County Park near Port Hope, Michigan in Huron County. (U.S. Coast Guard photo, Lighthouse Digest archives.)
