Julia A. Shay is shown here with three of the five children she had with James Shay while living in Montana. One of her children died within a year of giving birth. Her husband James Shay died in Montana in 1919. In 1923 she moved to New York and married Schuyler Simmons, and in 1926 the couple moved into the Sacketts Harbor Lighthouse.
