Capt. Frederick Adolph “Dolph” Schrieber was born on November 11, 1871 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He married Lilly Alice Rupp in 1908 and joined the U.S. Lighthouse Service that year serving at Southwest Pass Lighthouse in Louisiana. He then served at Chandeleur Island, Head of Passes, and Tchefuncte River Lights in Louisiana and Horn Island, Lake Borgne, Round Island, and Biloxi Lighthouses in Mississippi for a total of 29 years of lighthouse service.
