Nelson used to tie up his boat under the Timbalier Bay Lighthouse’s piles to fish when he was in high school. This third Timbalier Bay Light (1917–1985) was destroyed by Hurricane Juan in 1985. The two previous lights also were annihilated due to the forces of nature in that location. Back to the edition of: May/Jun 2019
