Sharkfin Shoal Lighthouse where William J. Kelly was the lighthouse keeper from 1939 to 1945. The structure was built at the Lazaretto Lighthouse Depot and transported to the site, which is northeast of Bloodworth Island on Maryland’s eastern shore. First lit August 1, 1892 it remained in operation until 1964 when the Coast Guard demolished it. It was replaced with an automated beacon that rests upon the foundation of the old light.
