Eugene Clarence Ingalls was born in East Machias, Maine on September 22, 1880. He was the 1st assistant keeper at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse from 1907 to 1912, 1st assistant keeper at Moose Peak Lighthouse from 1912 to 1914, and head keeper at Petit Manan Lighthouse from 1914 until his tragic death in 1916 at the age of 36.
