The Cedar River Lighthouse in Menominee, Michigan where Gustavus Umberham was the lighthouse keeper from 1890 to 1901. His first and second wives both died while he was stationed there. The Cedar River Lighthouse no longer stands, but the keeper’s house is still there and is now a private residence. (Lighthouse Digest archives) Back to the edition of: Jan/Feb 2020
