Assistant keeper Fairfield H. Moore and his wife Helen were stationed on Isles of Shoals serving under James Burke from 1904-1909. Afterwards, Fairfield would serve at the following Maine lighthouses: Whitehead Island Lighthouse from 1909 to 1917; Rockland Breakwater Light from 1917-1921; Cape Neddick (Nubble) Light from 1921-1928 and back again at Rockland Breakwater Light from 1928-1934. In her story, Lucy mentions him coming every night at midnight to wake her father up to take over the watch. (Finley Family Archive)
