In the far left of this photo you will notice the “bucket” suspended by a cable that was used to transport supplies, and sometimes people to and from Nubble Lighthouse. It was Cathy French who convinced the Coast Guard to install the picket fence after they removed the chain link fence. She and her husband Bob then stained the fence white.
