This dramatic photo shows assistant lighthouse keeper Henry Jenkins clutching the Tillamook Rock outbound mailbag while being hauled aboard the tender Rose’s cargo boat in 1934 via breeches buoy. When Henry Hill did it a year or two earlier, being lowered by derrick, he missed the boat and both he and the mailbag were unceremoniously dunked.
