This photo of Frederick P. Dillon and his wife, Miriam, was likely taken in the Dominican Republic during the three months the Dillons were there in 1947. Although he had officially retired from the Coast Guard on August 1, 1946, Dillon temporarily joined the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey the following year to act as a consultant to the Dominican Republic regarding their Aids to Navigation program.
