The remains of a square skeletal lighthouse tower is seen at the very edge of a rocky bluff on Cape Samana. It is easy to see why Dillon was totally exhausted upon the conclusion of his visit to this light, 500 feet above the ocean and an 8-mile trek from the beach where the inspection party landed.
