Photo Caption:
Keeper Walter White sits on the Point Hueneme Lighthouse back kitchen steps with granddaughter, Carol, and his cocker spaniel station dog, Amos, c. 1937. Carol remembers that Walter had a large eagle tattooed on his chest from the times of his sailing days. He could ripple his chest to make it look like the eagle was moving which was very exciting to a young girl. (Courtesy of Carol Hill) Back to the edition of: May/Jun 2022
