The 1877 lantern of the Chatham Lighthouse is being removed on April 15, 1969, and lowered to the ground by a crane to be carted away for a museum display. It was being removed to make room for a larger lantern to accommodate a rotating aero beacon. Back to the edition of: May/Jun 2023
