The major restoration of 1999-2000 of Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse included a new iron railing. This replica was based on two sections of the 1917-1970s railing saved by LRHS. In 2002, a wire was attached to the top of the railing by maintenance volunteer John Mason, which successfully deterred vultures from roosting on the railing.
