Photo Caption:

Vintage image of the 1911 Cleveland West Breakwater Lighthouse in Cleveland, Ohio, where the young Coastguardsmen were dispatched in December of 1960, to find a bomb. Although it was automated in 1965, it is still an active aid to navigation, but the structure is now in deplorable condition. The lighthouse is also known as the Cleveland Harbor Main Entrance Lighthouse. (Lighthouse Digest archives)
