The second Eastern Point Lighthouse tower is shown here with one of the earliest known images of an early bell tower at the light station. This tower was built in 1848 to replace an earlier stone tower that had been built in 1832 as a day-mark; a lantern room was later added. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
