In 1851 this tower, which was the original 1823 Newport Harbor Lighthouse on Goat Island, Rhode Island, was moved from Goat Island to Prudence Island to become the Prudence Island Lighthouse and it officially become operational in 1852. Back to the edition of: May/Jun 2013
