This 1880s image of the Cape Florida Lighthouse may have been taken at the time the lighthouse was in the process of being abandoned. If you look closely, the shades of curtains are drawn in the lantern room, which gives the impression that the lens was still in the tower. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
